Paula was one of our very first beginners at the Earlsdon Running Club. Here’s her story about how she started her running journey.

“My fitness wasn’t that great before starting the beginners running club sessions, although I had been walking a lot as I was training for a sponsored event.

I started run club with Zoe in September 2016 as I saw it as an ideal opportunity to get back into running – and as it was a beginners class I thought it would be a perfect way to start again without feeling the pressure of running with ‘proper’ runners!

I was mainly attracted to the club because it was starting an all new session aimed specifically for total beginners. The fact that its local to me, just a few minutes from my house also helped!

My running has improved massively, from walk/run at the start to now running 6km – and I’m loving it!

My advice to anyone thinking of starting running is to just give it a go! You have nothing to lose. Its a lovely, friendly and supportive club. You probably will feel nervous initially but that’s natural with anything new.

Just try it!”

Paula, and all the beginner runners, have done brilliantly! And their running journey is just beginning! Just to see their confidence increase, stamina and technique improve and to see them running and loving it, means the world to us as personal trainers. Helping other people achieve their goals is 100% why we do this job!
