Half Marathon Training 2021


We are training for the Coventry Half Marathon which takes place Suday 31st October 2021. Bookings for our training course open on Sunday 4th July 2021 and training begins Thursday 26th August 2021.

Your five in person distance run dates are…(save them in your diary!)

Saturday 2nd October
Saturday 16th October

We will also be taking part in the Regency 10km Sunday 19th September as a club which is a useful race training day.

You must ensure your own entry into both races.

How does half marathon training work?

We provide you with a training plan to follow. You can do this plan totally by yourself (online only verson) or with us for your five distance runs (full package).  You can also pay as you go to our intermediate classes for your shorter runs which will follow the plan if you want company for those as well. The digital side of the training is all delivered through our private facebook group which is where we upload your training plan, your manual, your tips and your question and answers. The facebook group is also a fantastic support group because it is a small group of people all training for the same thing. Support, encouragement and ideas from like minded people. The training programme is a one off, non refundable payment which is payable on bookings. Race entry and pay as you go classes not included. You must be 7km ready to join the training plan.

Please note, our weekly Monday and Thursday pay as you go classes will also follow the training plan so if you want company for your short runs as well you can book on to those classes as normal (at your own cost)

Am I eligible for the training?
You must be confidently 7km ready with continuous running to join the half group. It doesn’t matter if you have done 100 half marathons or it is your first one, you’re equally welcome. You need to be able to commit to running three times per week for the two months of the programme and be ready to take on the challenge. You must be physically fit and able to run.
